Stripping and waxing your floors requires 2 important elements to consider. The center area and the edges. The center area is the “easy part” and it always looks good no matter who you hire. The edges on the other hand are harder and demand more work. This is where you can spot a professional company from amateurs. To properly detail the edges, we need to do this by hand, there are no machines that will do this correctly. Many companies don’t take the time to do this because it cost money and time, they leave it half done and put new wax over it. Overtime your edges will become yellow and dark. Fixing this will be difficult and will cost you more money.

Burnishing
FAB Maintenance Services uses a professional high speed burnisher and burnisher solution to polish your VCT floors to restore the gloss.
How often you should strip & wax your floors?
VCT should be cleaned and maintained regularly, not only to maintain appearance but also to extend the life of the floor. A properly maintained floor will last for years.

How soon can I use the space after it has been stripped and waxed?
You can use your space 2 hours after the last coat dries to the touch.
Do we need to move everything?
Yes, we need to move everything with the exception of extra-large furniture.
How many coats of finish do you normally apply?
Three to six coats, depending on the type of finish and the type of usage a floor receives.
How long will the shine last on the floor?
This depends greatly on the daily care your floor receives.
What chemical should I use to clean my floor on a regular basis?
A good neutral PH floor detergent will not leave a film or damage the finish.
Is it better to scrub and recoat or strip and wax?
If you have not performed a scrub and recoat in the last 6-12 months, it is recommended that you start fresh with a full strip and finish. For new floors we need to remove the factory film and apply several layers of wax.
